Overwatch: Ana Can Make Heroes Go to Sleep, Permanently

Overwatch’s new character, Ana, has just been released on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 game consoles.

The Sniper/healer is kind of good. It does take time getting used to but Ana is a great support character.

She has a bevy of tools to keep enemies at bay. One thing she can do to halt the advances of enemy players is her sleeping dart, which puts enemies to sleep for 5.5 seconds or until that enemy is hit.

Now, the idea of Ana’s sleeping dart is innocent; well, not until you know how to exploit it.

There is a group of people trying Ana’s sleeping darts in Quick play and they have found a new exploit that could potentially break the game.

You see, when you use Ana’s sleeping darts for a long time, the unfortunate recipient of her sleeping darts will be booted from the game and may not be able to join back.

That is because the game will think that the player has been AFK for far too long; thus, prompting the system to kick the “AFK” player.

So, how do you do this? Well, you basically need to have 3 players choosing Ana as their hero.

Next, deliberate on an unfortunate candidate and start firing sleeping darts to that particular enemy hero. Since Ana’s sleeping dart has a 10-second cooldown, make sure to space every sleeping dart for at least 4 seconds apart.

In other words, each Ana player should use the sleeping dart on the target 4-seconds apart. One Ana will shoot the dart, wait 4 seconds, and another one will shoot the sleeping dart, and so on.

After nearly 60 seconds, the game will think that the player has been AFK and will start giving him/her the boot.

Although on the surface, it is quite concerning, players should not worry about this exploit.

For one, this player composition is not possible in competitive ranked play because Blizzard has implemented a 1-hero only policy. This means that you can only select one Ana hero per game in the competitive ranked play.

Second, Overwatch is a fast-paced game. For this to work, perfect conditions have to be met. Do you seriously think that 3 Ana heroes can pull this off while other enemy players can shoot at you? I don’t think so.

Third, since its launch, Blizzard game developers are always quick to fix Overwatch’s bugs and exploits.

In fact, due to popular demand, McCree’s ultimate, Deadeye, has been nerfed in a sense that he cannot kill tank characters with just one shot anymore (unless if that tank character has his/her chunk of HP cut off before he/she gets hit with the Deadeye).

The idea is game-breaking, yes, but it is really no cause for concern as it is nearly impossible to pull this off in real matches.

Still, this is an exploit that should be fixed and expect to have a fix for this sometime in the future.

Overwatch is an FPS game and is available for the PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 game consoles.
